West Indies Real Estate (W.I.R.E.) is a group of independent brokers, established in 1985 to service the growing needs of investors on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.

Buyers' Agent

Under your instruction, and at an agreed fee, we are able to act on your behalf in representing you in the Dominican Republic or assisting you in an efficient and timesaving manner to:

Currently real estate in Europe and America is stalling or even in decline, particularly when you look at places like Florida. Real estate in the Dominican Republic is still some of the least expensive in the Caribbean with current growth exceeding an average of 25% per annum over the past 3 years alone, with specific beachfront properties exceeding even these figures.

Why the Dominican Republic? There are many reasons, however with property prices currently as low as they are, all year round sunshine, a stable currency, only 1.5 hours from Miami and under 4 hours from New York, is it any wonder why growth is consistently in the upper 20’s?

More importantly, a recent IMF report praised President Fernandez’ success in achieving high growth, low inflation, financial stability and a strong balance of payments. This is a Country where the Government is determined to promote and back serious investment in the tourism and manufacturing industry.

West Indies is able to offer all levels of investor the same service, whether you are simply looking to ‘buy to let’ or for the more serious investor we can offer advice, facts and figures. With professional advice, not limited to simply buy or sell, we are able to offer a detailed review of the specific project, the developer, builder and mortgage lender. Our evaluation includes cash flow, future property trends, feasibility and anticipated returns. Only when we are completely satisfied do we recommend the project to the investor.

In addition to the above, we are able to offer, through our partner companies, tax efficient planning, finance, letting agreements and even opening bank accounts.

Project Management

If you are not resident on the island, then we would recommend that you employ a project manager to oversee the building and liaise with yourselves.


The type of service offered will vary with the fee charged, however we would suggest that you budget around 2 – 5% of the total building cost, excluding land.

Relocation Service

Living in the Dominican Republic is actually quite easy; it’s just that you have to find your way around in the early days.

We can suggest one or two local agencies that can offer tailor-made assistance or guidance on the following:

• Gaining residency
• Setting up Bank accounts
• Appointments with local lawyers
• Arranging utilities i.e. Electricity, Telephone /Internet, Gas, Satellite TV
• Locating schools, clinics, shops and manufacturers
• Car hire, airport transfers and car purchase
• Suggestions as to local trade people
• Meeting Social groups
• Accompanied shopping trips to all towns and cities in the Dominican Republic
